This month, students and staff have been diligently working on a variety of activities recognizing and celebrating “National Week of Respect”, “Anti-Violence and Vandalism Week”, and “Red Ribbon Week.” We have held various assembly programs, an anti-bullying poster contest, made Wake-Up McAuliffe announcements, and ran a “Paws Before You Post” campaign.
As part of our school-wide professional goals, we will be working toward building the academic vocabulary of our students in all content areas. As you can see on our website, we have begun a “Word of the Week” project and all classes are participating. Please help us with this initiative by encouraging your children to improve and to build upon their vocabulary. Our Literacy Leadership Team will be hosting a “Fall in Love with Words Parent Night” on Wednesday, October 22nd at 6:30pm in our IMC. We hope you are able to attend.
Thank you for all of your support and participation in our school initiatives.
Yours in education,
Debra Phillips, Principal
