Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to all who participated in American Education Week and School Conference Week. We appreciated all of the parents who were able to participate and gave us the opportunity to work together for the benefit of your children.
Our Run for Vets event was earlier this month, but I wanted to share that overall we raised $4102 for two Veterans' charities. Thank you again to all who participated and donated to this very special cause.
Upcoming events for our students include assembly programs for our 7th graders titled, “Truth about Gangs” and for our 8th graders, Steered Straight, a drug & alcohol awareness/prevention program. Our 6th Graders will have class meetings with the students from our high school called “Heroes and Cool Kids.” This is part of a series of character education and anti-bullying programs which takes place throughout the year.
Upon our return from the Thanksgiving Holiday, we have picture re-takes scheduled on December 3rd in our auxiliary gym. Students will be able to complete these re-takes during their gym/elective classes. Forms can be found in the main office if needed.
Finally, on our school web page in the left hand column, there is a new tab titled “Middle Years Newsletters.” This is a subscription that I receive and I wanted to share it with you. We have posted both the November and December newsletter at this time for your reading pleasure. There are often some suggestions and tips as to how to help a middle school child with homework, difficulty with friends, and other topics of interest. Hopefully, you will find it informative and helpful.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday.
